Taken

Postby KrisNY on Mon Jun 22, 2009 12:58 am

We just rented this movie last week and I have to say I was quite impressed with it. At first I wasn't sure if my 12 year old daughter should watch it, but she wanted to.

It was a great movie. Did you see it yet? Planning to?

2 girls are taken when they are on vacation in another country. The father is a secret service type of guy and he goes to the country and finds her. She was taken and was going to be put in a sex-slave type of role.

It was thrilling and I loved the ending.

Great movie. I expected a run-of-the-mill action movie, but it turned out to be quite entertaining. Liam Neeson was in top form.

I want to see this one! Our 14 year old granddaughter went to go and see this one and she loved it. I like Liam Neeson too as he plays really believable roles.

Yeah this is supposed to be a good film. Neeson is a great actor, looking forward to him playing the role of Lincoln if the film ever gets released!

I tell you I was hooked from the beginning to the end. I love movies that draw you in. I loved the ending too.
Not too sure about Lincoln, what is it about?

I saw it. I thought it was ok, but I think it should have been Rated R. Especially with the scene in the auction house.

It was a great movie. That father certainly knew what to do to find his daughter, didn't he? It certainly kept me on the edge of my seat.
It was very bloody though~ did your daughter like it?

I was surprised that she did. Man she is growing up Antk... it scares me.. I want the little girl back- how do I get that?

There were parts when she closed her eyes and was like... eeewwww.

It was a great movie.

I found it to be excellently crafted and the performances by Liam Neeson and supporting cast were above average fare for an action flick.

I felt, however, much of the dialogue was spoon fed pablum. Neeson's character end's up appearing obsessive and doting and the daughter a spoiled princess.

But, I loved the ending. I wish, though, the writers' had developed the relationship between Neeson's character and the Pop singer more thoroughly, it would only have added three of four minutes.

I liked most of the film (great action and pace ... once it got going), but the begining was awful and the view of the world portrayed seemed like it came from the cold war era (American good, rest of world evil). Ironic given that it's french produced, directed and written, headlined by an Irishman and with only one American in the main cast!
Still, it went down well with some popcorn, a beer and my brain in neutral (once I got over the offensive world view portrayed)
