Another Mummy movie?

Postby lilymom24 on Mon Jul 14, 2008 5:11 pm

We saw the poster for yet anther Mummy movie at the theater yesterday. I am determined to wait until its out on dvd but my son has other plans.lol. I think one Brendan Fraiser movie in the theater is good enough for one year. lol.

I have to say, I really like the look of this. It's realy shaping up to be the movie we all hoped "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls" was going to be (seriously, what has happened Spielberg in the last few years? Apart from Munich, everything else has been luke-warm at best).
I really enjoyed the first Mummy movie and lots of the Mummy Returns. The footage I've seen for this makes me think this will be a lot of fun, unlike the overcooked Indy 4.

It really wouldn't have to be much of a movie to be better than Indy 4. That one was pretty bad.

I am interested in seeing this, but whatever happened to Racheal Weisz? I haver never liked it when sequels get new representatives for characters.

The other movies were good and this should be as well. I liked the Rock and I really like Jet-Li so I will see this one.

Rachel Weisz (sadly) didn't want to do another Mummy movie so they had to recast.
Strange, any potential franchise, they usually tie people in for a 3 movie deal these days.
On the plus side, Maria Bello is a pretty good & well respected actress, who is pretty easy on the eye. Although (like Weisz) I do struggle to imagine her having a 20 year old son!

I was disappointed that she won't be in this one as well. It always stinks when the main characters are either changed or are not in the movies. Hopefully it will work for them.

Well, I liked Mummy movie a lot but wasn't impressed that much with mummy returns. I don't have any idea or that much interest over this new movie ;)

There are two type of movies. One kind of movies can continue with second part, third part and goes on. Some movies can't have more than one part. I suppose, Mummy is also one of the second kind. You know, I felt this when I saw Mummy returns with the Scorpion King. I was wondering with whom are they going to fight in the third part. Anyhow, the crew reminds the same isn't it?
