Terminator Salvation

I am a total Terminator fan, and want to show my daughter why. Is this movie going to be OK for an 11 year old, or a bit full on?

I think it would be alright for an eleven year old. A lot of that depends on what the child has already been exposed to.

I haven't actually seen the film yet but I've heard two things from quite a few people:-

1) There's not enough violence / bloodshed
2) It's really not very good.

I agree with crassus, I reckon she'll be ok to see it. But unfortunately, I'm not sure if it's a great way of showcasing the terminator series!

Not enough violence? OK...

Sounds like I might be disappointed, though.

Terminator Salvation is a 2009 American science fiction film written by John Brancato and Michael Ferris and directed by McG. It is the fourth film in the Terminator series, and stars Christian Bale as future Resistance leader John Connor and Sam Worthington as cyborg Marcus Wright. The film also introduces a young Kyle Reese from the original 1984 film, played by Anton Yelchin, as well as depicting the origin of the T-800 Model 101 Terminator. Terminator Salvation, set in 2018, focuses on the war between humanity and Skynet - a departure from the previous installments, which were set on the present day and featured time travel.

I thought this film was quite enjoyable (despite obvious plot holes) and thankfully steered away from the time travel elements of the previous three films, which all followed the same basic pattern of sending a good and bad Human/Terminator through time to complete a mission.

Not sure why anyone would be thankful that a Terminator movie steered away from the timetravel elements, but I thought it was an enjoyable, if not particualry smart movie. A bit like the tin man really, all shiny and metalic but it lacked heart.
As for the violence, it's relatively mild (particularly so when contrasted with the first movie) and you see worse on TV most days of the week now.
