The New 3-D

Postby DianaR on Thu Jul 10, 2008 3:38 pm

I really want to see the new version of Journey to the Center of the Earth. I haven't seen the newer 3-D technology but have heard that it is light years better than the old blue/red technology.

Have other movies been made using this newer version of 3-D?

We went to see Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus in 3D a couple of months ago-- it was the same type of 3D- and it was great! I can't wait to see this one either- Journey-

Kris, my husband took our daughter to see Hannah Montana and he said he was impressed by the 3D as well.

We just found out last night that our local theater doesn't do the new 3D because they are behind in technology. We were a little disappointed and dh said we should have gone to where they saw HM but its quite a drive.

This is what I am wondering: Does it cost extra to see these movies. When I was at the theatre recently, it looked like there was a sign up saying that it was an extra 2 or 3 dollars to see Journey to the Center. . . . Movies have already increased in price enough as it is, but to charge extra for 3D?

Yes, they do charge more for the 3-D movies here. But you can get some of these 2-color glasses for home use I suppose:)

That could be the case. But as far as I have experienced, 3-D movies are never charged extra penny just because they are 3-D. May be the ticket rate differs due to the expectation of the movie.

That did it for me. I won't be going to see any 3-d movies if they cost more. Movies cost to much as it is.

Oh, that's good to here. The old stuff was terrible and bad-fitting. The screen always looked blurry too.

The extra 2 or 4 dollars is for the glasses, that you get to keep. I assume that if you see another 3-D movie, you can take your glasses and tell the ticket person that you already have them, and avoid paying the extra money.
