Who thinks American Idol will continue to do well in the years to come? That is my favorite reality show to watch. I seem to disagree with them on so occastions this past season. I hope they can keep it going.

I hope the rating will stay high enough and they will keep airing it.

American Idol officially jumped the shark this season (though last season they were revving the engines and stocking the shark tank). They've become too commercial and too self-important. Their ratings have shown this, too; so now they will do what every show in this situation does: kill off Randy, get Paula pregnant, bring in Cousin Oliver, and do a Hawaiian Vacation Special.

How might have two more seasons in it, but that's about it. The hype around rivalries between contestants and the "who will go this week?" is getting too predictable.

American idol is horrible anymore.Last year was the only year most contestants had talent.I love Chris Daughtery. He brought something new and so did Blake. Actually most people from last year did.I only usually watch the auditions because after that it bores me and loses appeal. It's pretty much the same thing.Randy talking about the Dog Pound, Paula making comments as not to bruise someone's ego and Simon being well Simon. (Insert- It's like to stuck a cat in a bag and shook it up!)

Then they tried changing it this year and only one constestant was even appealing.I watched the show for a few minutes when my husband had it or I was flipping channels...and none of them were wonderful. I'm sure it will stay on the air.Because people keep watching it and auditioning. But, I see less people watching it because it's the same old thing just new people.

Eventually it will die down. I Think that everything has to come to an end some time and this show will be one of them that does unfortunately.

I don't think it will die down-- as long as they keep getting great singers on the show--- and also some lousy ones for us all to boo--
I have to admit I watched the 1 season just to see how crazy Sanjaya was--- and when he was going to get booted off!

You know I never really got into it. I DVR them on the preforming nights and fast forward through it the next day. I just liked to hear them sing!

Therein lies the problem. They've used up all the good undiscovered talent. I mean, for example, can you really tell me that David Archuletta was *good*? Really? Seriously, maybe in some fluffy Mormon pop band that tours in megachurches, maybe ...
